Arts

Central Florida Christian Academy is committed to offering a strong curriculum in the Fine Arts. We offer opportunities in both the scheduled curriculum and in extra curricular activities.

ART

Elementary - Art is part of the curriculum in the elementary grades. Students learn, by hands-on experiences, the seven elements of design, such as: color, line, form, texture, shape, space, and value.

Secondary - Students continue with more in-depth study of art, by experiencing the elements of design with more advanced mediums, while adding the concepts of design principles.

MUSIC

Elementary

The CFCA classroom music program for K5 through 5^th Grade is part of a total school music program designed to give our students the opportunity to discover, explore, and improve their musical talents, and through performance, to use those talents to the glory of God. K5 through 5^th Grade students will be introduced to basic music concepts through singing, moving, playing instruments, and listening. Through these experiences they will develop their singing voices, a sense of rhythm, a repertoire of songs, an understanding of traditional folk and classical music from various cultures and historical periods, and will grow to love and enjoy the gift of music.

K5 through 2^nd Grade meet twice each week for 25 minutes. Grades 3 – 5 meet once each week for 40 minutes.

Fifth graders may also choose to participate in the Elementary Beginning Band program. Elementary Beginning Band meets daily for 40 minutes classes.

Secondary - At the secondary level, the music program becomes more advanced and diversified through choral and band opportunities. The choral program offers Middle School Chorus, and High School Concert Choir. The band program offers Middle School Band and High School Band. These bands perform in concerts and participate in Solo/Ensemble and Concert Band Festivals throughout the year.

DRAMA

Secondary - The drama program offers middle school and high school drama. These programs have 2 major productions a year.
